Stuart Swift

Stuart was born in 1946, and his life has been associated with various locations, including Cleethorpes, Tickhill, Conisbrough, Maltby, Balby, and Haxey. For work he must have clocked up countless miles while driving, both buses and coaches, working for Doncaster Corporation and then running his own coach business SWIFTS HAPPY DAYS TRAVEL for over twenty years in Blaxton, Doncaster. He took a lot of happy people and children to lots of nice places.

Stuart and Joyce met when he was 18 and she 16, when they went skating. They were married in 1968 at Christ Church, Doncaster.

Stuart enjoyed going out for the day himself, especially having a relaxed meal, and was a great fan of rice pudding and trifle, often fought over with Gail. He also enjoyed going to car rallies, his own cars being a particular pride and joy.

He had an infectious laugh, and from the numerous cards received by Joyce over the last few days, has been described as a gentleman.
